Men are so predictable… How did I know Tré not defining a budget would eventually become a problem. Like I have mentioned before, majority of people aren’t aware of how much furniture costs. When I presented Tré with the designs he was very grateful and excited about them because he really liked what he saw, but he was quite shocked at the price tags. I was a little discouraged because I felt like I worked really hard on all of the designs but they were to go to waste because he couldn’t afford it. But I took it as a learning lesson as I am aware many desires go through this issue with battling on setting a budget with clients, I just will make sure next time I will make setting a budget a requirement.
I truly believed that I was being price conscious because I thought furnishing a whole apartment for around $6000 was a good deal. Which it is, but I didn’t fully recognize Tré’s financial situation and that he was in need of some sort of financing to afford the upfront costs of an apartment. Tré did some research and him and his mom were directed to Ashley’s Furniture Home Store where they offer financing though applying for their credit card. Tré and I decided to result to Plan B and go furniture shopping together in Ashley’s to find the perfect pieces for his apartment.
I will update you on how our trip went in the next post!
